Director of Percussion &

Recording Engineer

Stephen Flory is a software developer and percussionist from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Westminster College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education and received his Master’s of Music in Music Technology Degree from Southern Utah University.

Stephen has performed both throughout the United States and Europe with various ensembles. Currently he can be found performing with Adam’s Aces for the Pittsburgh Swing Dance Community and with Frankly Speaking, a Frank Sinatra tribute group. He also performs as a member of the Pittsburgh Steeline, the official drumline of the Pittsburgh Steeline and with various other musical groups throughout the area.

In 2013 Stephen helped start two businesses, 1710 Percussion and Monroeville Music Lesson Center. 1710 Percussion was named the “Best Boutique Drum Company” three years in a row by the readers of DRUM! Magazine and he uses their drums exclusively. He also served on the Board of Directors for Warrior Music Foundation, a nonprofit focused on serving veterans and their families as they deal with the complexities of PTSD by providing a venue for learning, healing and camaraderie using music lessons and therapy in both individual and group settings.

Stephen currently resides in Irwin, PA where he works during the day as a software developer. When he’s not teaching lessons or gigging he loves to get outside to hike or bike with his wife Arias and their dog Ollie, follow the Pittsburgh Penguins, or work on home improvement projects around the house.
