OVERTURE
PYPO's ensembles for developing band and string players.
Overture Ensembles provide developing to intermediate string and band players the opportunity to learn more about playing their instrument while working in a string orchestra or full band setting. Students work on technical and ensemble skills while playing classical, traditional and contemporary music.

Each semester, Overture musicians receive guidance and feedback from from our incredible music faculty, and are mentored by students from our Intermezzo and Philharmonic ensembles.

Eligibility
Overture is open to any student in their second year of playing and up.
Overture Band is for developing wind, brass, and percussionists.
Overture Strings is for developing violinists, violists, cellists, and bassists.
Rehearsals
Overture groups rehearse on Saturday mornings, typically 9:00 -10:00 A.M. from mid-October through March.
Performances
As an Overture musician, you will perform in three concerts per season – two large scale PYPO concerts and either the Band or Strings Festival.
Tuition
Full Season Tuition (Sept - April): $400*
Mid-Season Tuition (Jan - April): $200*
*all tuition is subject to a $25 registration fee
No Audition is Required to Join Overture Band or Overture Strings!
