You’re about to take your first step towards joining PYPO. Auditions are opportunities for you to play your instrument for us so we can get to know you and match you with one of our five incredible school-year ensembles. Follow the steps below to start your PYPO journey!
Audition Steps
1. Register for Your Audition (Prelude and Phil only)
Fall auditions will be held in-person on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Chartiers Valley Intermediate School. Video auditions will also be accepted on a rolling basis; if you're recording your audition, you still need to fill out the registration form below. Video upload instructions can be found at the top of the form.
Register for your Prelude or Philharmonic audition HERE.
All auditions require a $25 audition fee.
You will receive a link to complete payment after registering for an audition.
2. Follow the Requirements for Your Chosen Ensemble
Scroll down to view audition requirements by instrument.

NO AUDITIONS are required for Overture Band or Overture Strings.
3. Practice, practice, practice!
Prepare for your audition with your private teacher or on your own! We can't wait to listen.
Audition Requirements
Select the tab of your chosen ensemble and the click "view" under your instrument. We recommend viewing these on a laptop if possible.
