Dennis Morton attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP), graduating in 1994 with a Bachelor’s in Music Education. While at IUP, Mr. Morton was concertmaster of the Indiana University Orchestra for three years and studied under Delight Malitsky and Dr. Stanley Chepaitis. In 2002 Mr. Morton received his Master’s in Violin Performance from IUP. He has performed with the Johnstown Symphony, Butler Symphony, Pittsburgh Philharmonic and Romanza String Quartet. Currently, Mr. Morton is on the faculty of the North Allegheny School District where he is a string specialist at the elementary levels. In 2002, he founded the N.A. Fiddlers(www.nafiddlers.net). The N.A. Fiddlers provides students in middle school and high school the opportunity to perform traditional folk music. As the director of the N.A. Fiddlers, Mr. Morton and his students have performed at an array of venues in and around the Pittsburgh area. In addition, Mr. Morton currently plays the “fiddle” in his own bluegrass group which also performs at various venues throughout the Pittsburgh area, Slippery Rock and beyond.
