Christina Crivelli is a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education with a concentration in Violin. Christina’s past teachers include violinist Dr. Stanley Chepaitis, former concertmaster of the Arkansas Symphony, and Alejandra Urrutia, former concertmaster of the Concepcion Symphony Orchestra in Chile. She has furthered her studies at the Eastern String Educators Workshop in Villanova and is an active member of the American String Teachers Association. She has participated in numerous conducting and pedagogy workshops where she has worked with Sandra Dackow, Bob Gillespie and Anne Witt.
Christina is currently the Assistant Director of the Pittsburgh Youth Philharmonic Orchestra’s Prelude Strings Ensemble and maintains an extensive studio of violin and viola students in the South Hills of Pittsburgh. Christina has served as a strings educator in the Mt. Lebanon and Bethel Park school districts, as well as worked with the orchestras in Beaver and East Allegheny school districts. She has performed on violin with the Pittsburgh Philharmonic, Johnstown Symphony and Washington Symphony Orchestras as well as performed at numerous overseas venues including the Minoritenkirche and the Wiener Konzerthaus in Vienna, Austria. Christina is the founding member, manager and violinist with the Three Rivers String Quartet and has recorded with several local artists as well as performed on stage with country singer LeAnn Rimes.
