What is the Pittsburgh Youth Philharmonic Orchestra?
PYPO is a 501(c)(3) non-profit youth orchestra, comprised of musicians from grades 4 to 12 from over 32 different school districts in the Greater Pittsburgh Area.

How do you join PYPO?
Membership in PYPO is open to all interested students in grades 9 - 12 who qualify through our audition process (please see audition page for date of next scheduled auditions). When and where does PYPO rehearse?
We rehearse every Saturday morning, from 10:00 to 12:30 PM from mid-October through early April. Rehearsals are held at the Chartiers Valley Intermediate School.

What does it cost to be a member?
PYPO Tuition for the 2010-2011 season is $550 with a 10% multi-member discount for each additional family member. A payment plan is available. PYPO also offers a limited number of scholarships per season.
